It's that time of year again if you are hearing noises in your attic or bedroom walls you could have a raccoon living with you. You have probably had them there all winter. Now that the female is getting close she's getting grumpy, actually down right miserable. Like any other pregnant female she's blaming the male. lol
You'll know when she's ready to have them as she will kick the male out. I usually sounds like two dogs going at it, as the male doesn't want to spend the night outside. Never mind find a new place. He'll probably spend a few days just hanging out on the roof. Till one of your neighbours I'll say hey Joe you know you got a raccoon on your roof?
If by chance the male raccoon does wander off. You'll then think all is well it'll be quiet for about a week.

The female raccoon is just getting started.
After the raccoon babies are born the cry but they are too small for you to hear them. After a week mommy raccoon is tired and needs to get food, when she goes out they scream and cry till she comes back. At two weeks they are now old enough for you to hear them anywhere in the house. If you can hear them imagine what mommy raccoon is going through. The baby raccoons are driving her crazy. So she will leave and they will scream and cry louder and louder and louder. It actually sounds like a baby crying at the top of their lungs. As they get bigger she will come and go more frequently. The only one have to put up with the raccoon babies crying is you. You will get no sleep as raccoons are night animals so they will cry and scream all night long while mommy raccoon is gone, and they'll do it right above your head. As by now she has ripped up most of the insulation in your attic for her nesting area the insulation that she has 'e ripped up has been trampled to nothing or used as a toilet.
From three weeks to two months they will play alllllll night they will run and fight just like three year old kids and pee and poop all over the place. You entire upstairs if it isn't already will STINK.
I MEAN STINK - DIRTY DOG/DEAD RANK FISH/TRASH ALL ROLLED INTO ONE!!!!!!
After 2 1/2 to 3 months the baby raccoons will be wandering out with mom raccoon. Where they now become a physical threat because they are raccoon babies looking all cute, furry and cuddly, making your young ones want to try to pick them up. As the babies raccoons aren't like mommy with her built in time clock where she only comes out at night. they don't know any better and can come out as early as supper time. Raccoons are rabies carriers, they have very sharp teeth and claws. Put that together with the baby being scared they will attack.
